 7 Expressways in Uttar Pradesh

Uttar Pradesh will soon become the state with the most expressways in the country. The government has already green-lighted seven expressways in the state. With these, around 56 districts in the state will be connected by expressways. The construction of these expressways is expected to significantly enhance connectivity between the state and nearby cities.

Currently, Uttar Pradesh has the largest expressway network in India (both operational and non-operational). This new development will add even more gems to its crown.

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to build seven new expressways that will pass through the state's 56 districts. The new expressways are expected to greatly boost connectivity in the state and its surrounding areas. The total length of these expressways is approximately 866 kilometers, linking 56 districts to a vast network of expressways.

Budget for new expressways in Uttar Pradesh.

The Uttar Pradesh government has allocated a budget of 50,000 crore rupees for the development of seven new expressways in the state. The government hopes to complete the construction of these expressways within the next 2 to 3 years. According to media reports, the UP cabinet has approved these projects.

 The objective behind the upcoming expressways in UP

 is to improve connectivity between the state and other neighboring areas, in line with the planned development of the expressways. Moreover, the government expects significant economic growth through faster transportation, increased real estate investment potential, enhanced attraction towards industrial centers, and overall improvement in the quality of life. The new expressways could also pave the way for ribbon development along the expressway routes.

·        Purvanchal Expressway.

When talking about the currently operational expressways in Uttar Pradesh, the Purvanchal Expressway is included. Its total length is 340 kilometers, connecting 8 districts: Lucknow, Barabanki, Amethi, Sultanpur, Ayodhya, Ambedkarnagar, Azamgarh, Mau, and Ghazipur.

  • Yamuna Expressway

The Yamuna Expressway connects Agra to Greater Noida and links Gautam Buddha Nagar, Bulandshahr, Aligarh, Mahamaya Nagar (Hathras), Mathura, and Agra. Its total length is approximately 165 kilometers.

  •    Ganga Expressway

Construction work on the Ganga Expressway, one of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's dream projects, is ongoing. This 594-kilometer-long expressway will connect 12 districts: Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Raebareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj.

  •      Vindhya Expressway

The announcement of the Vindhya Expressway was recently made by CM Yogi Adityanath. This 320-kilometer-long expressway will connect Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Sant Ravidas Nagar, Varanasi, Chandauli, and Sonbhadra.

  • · Gorakhpur Link Expressway

The Gorakhpur Link Expressway is also included in this list with a total length of 91 kilometers. It goes from Gorakhpur through Azamgarh to Ambedkarnagar via Sant Kabir Nagar.

Agra-Lucknow ExpresswayVehicles are also speeding on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway. It connects 9 districts: Agra, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Itawa, Auraiya, Kannauj, Kanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, and Lucknow. Its total length is 302 kilometers.

  • · Bundelkhand Expressway

The 296-kilometer-long Bundelkhand Expressway connects 5 districts, which include Chitrakoot, Banda, Mahoba, Jalaun, and Auraiya. People here speed along this expressway.

Agra Lucknow Expressway-Ganga Expressway via Farrukhabad Link Expressway will be 93 kilometers long. It will connect three districts: Etawah, Farrukhabad, and Hardoi.

  • · Agra-Lucknow Expressway- Purvanchal Expressway Link Expressway

The Agra-Lucknow Expressway will be linked to the Purvanchal Expressway via a link expressway. Its length is 60 kilometers. This will connect one district. This is expected to greatly benefit travelers.
